... Tips & Tricks
Before clipping you should always clean thick dirt from the coat. Sand particles and similar dirt can quickly blunt the blade set during clipping. That is why you should brush the coat before clipping – you can use MOSER® HappyPet for simple effortless grooming of matted fur – or give the animal a bath using a mild shampoo. Please note that all tangles must be removed before the bath!
- Cutting length adjustment
Interchangeable blade sets with different cutting lengths offer tremendous advantages especially for long and extensive clipping work. The choice of blade sets can be closely matched to the end use. Simply attach the blade set to the clipper and click into place. We have put together instructions for using various cutting sets for the models Max45, 1225T Professional, ARCO and Akku on pages 26 – 28.
For models with integrated cutting length adjustment you can vary the blade set so as to achieve a cutting length of 0.1 to 3 mm. If you don’t want to cut the fur shorter than 3 mm, you can fit so-called attachment combs to the cutting set; these can be used to achieve cutting lengths of up to 25 mm. Overview page 30.
In order to enjoy long use from your MOSER® animal clipper, we recommend cleaning the blade set after each use and wiping the equipment with a soft, but not damp, cloth. To guarantee the optimum cutting performance of your MOSER® animal clipper, it is essential that the blade set is lubricated after cleaning.
... primarily because it's a matter of the health of your pet's skin and coat. In other words: it's about your dog's well-being and hygiene. Then, of course, it's also a matter of a well-groomed appearance. Particularly for male dogs, clipping in the abdominal area is a good idea for hygiene reasons. And last but not least, a coat which is thoroughly clipped makes daily care of the coat much easier.
- Why use an animal clipper?
... because it's the only way to achieve an even, professional clip. What's more, animal clippers are mich easier and quicker to use than scissors. This is not only better for you, but also better for your dog.

Clipping jobs can vary enormously. In spring the coat should be clipped shorter if possible. In winter the paws should certainly be clipped. In some breeds only the face and paws should be clipped but for Poodles, Kerry Blues or Bedlington Terriers, for instance, regular all-over clipping is necessary. Part-clips are suitable for special breeds such as Pekineses or Irish Soft Coated Weaten Terriers. Just clipping their back, abdomen or genital area is advisable. And finally, a matted coat may be the occasion for a thorough clip. To cope with this, we can offer you exactly the right cutting sets for your clipper to suit each clipping job: cutting lengths from 1/20mm to 9 mm. For some cutting heads you'll also receive special attachment combs. This variety and the high quality of our Animalline products makes clipping easy and is good for your dog. |
